José Vazquez (Bass-Baritone) is an opera singer and actor living in Miami, FL and currently singing with the Florida Grand and Palm Beach Opera Companies. He has appeared in leading and supporting roles in operas like Die Zauberflöte (Papageno), Dark Sisters (Prophet/Larry King), and Rigoletto (Marullo/Uscire). Most recently, he performed in two operas at the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival with roles in Carmen (Zuniga), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Demetrius).
Additionally, he has performed in fully memorized Shakespeare productions with the Shakespeare Troupe of South Florida as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, and Edmund in King Lear. José has also appeared in Mostly Baroque’s most recent performances of La Serva Padrona and Amahl and the Night Visitors. He has studied voice with Oscar Diaz, jr. of Performers Music Institute since 2011.
